Why Rosetta Stone

There is a significant difference between memorizing vocabulary lists and speaking a language with confidence. Learning a language is about more than just the words. Ditch the books, translator, and dictionary, and surround yourself with a language whenever, wherever with the Rosetta Stone mobile app.

Rosetta Stone is Free for anyone who has a
New Brunswick Public Library Card

The card is free, does not expire, and can be used at any public library across the province. 

The online registration service is only available to residents of the Province of New Brunswick.  A resident (for this purpose) is someone who lives and resides in NB.

Find It

  • Go to the following website: www.gnb.ca/publiclibraries
  • Under Quick Links, Click on Online Library.
  • Scroll down about half the page, Click on Rosetta Stone.

Register

Before you start, make sure that you have sound on your computer (speakers or headphones). You also need a microphone if you want to practice speaking, but this is not mandatory.

  • Enter your library card number.
  • Choose the interface language.
  • Enter your email address, a password, and choose the language you want to learn.
  • Click on Sign in.  

Start

  • Click on Launch Rosetta Stone Language Lessons Version 3.  A new window will open.
  • For speech recognition, you need to click on the voice type that best describes your voice: adult male, adult female or child.
  • Choose the language you want to learn and your current level. Click on Continue.
  • Select your course and click on Apply Changes.

  • Click on Continue, then on Start.
  • Choose your microphone or click on Continue without speech for this session if you don’t have a microphone.
  • Follow the instructions and perfect or learn a new language. 

Mobile App

  • Access your mobile phone’s app store.
  • Search the store for Rosetta Stone. 
  • Download the Rosetta Stone: Learn Languages App . 

  • DO NOT LAUNCH the app once it is downloaded.
  • You’ll need to open the web browser on your device and go to the library’s online databases in order to access Rosetta Stone.  
  • Enter your email address, a password, and select the language that you want to learn. Click on Sign In.
  • Click on Launch Rosetta Stone Language Lessons Version 3.      
  • The Language Learning Suite will then launch automatically from the Rosetta Stone application in the default language of your device.
