Using Library Materials in your Brightspace Course

The library's eBooks, Databases with articles, and Media / Video collections are reliable and accessible resources that you can add to your course content. We recommend using the provided permalink from each resource to insert into your course material.

Permalinks vs URLs

A permalink is permanently attached to the document and is intended to remain unchanged for many years into the future. When linking journals, articles or an eBook from the library resources into course material, you need to use a permalink.
The URL may only work for the duration of your login session and may not work for others.

Benefits of linking to the direct resource

  • Access to the featured tools such as translation, audio, notes and citations.
  • Unlimited copies make it easy to assign book chapters to everyone in your class.
  • Copyright compliance will never be a worry. Due to licensing restrictions, some resources can be uploaded while others cannot.
